It is not everyone who has the anointing. Though the anointing is available for everyone to have, not everyone receives the anointing. Salvation is the gateway to the anointing.
The anointing is a gift and spiritual investment God puts in a life. 1 Timothy 4:14
Your looks or good dress sense cannot fetch you the anointing. Your education does not entitle you to the anointing. Scheming is will not get you the anointing. Church attendance does not necessarily guarantee you the anointing. Common sense or human wisdom will not fetch you the anointing. Human opinion or belief is not what gets you the anointing.
Your heart has a lot to do with qualifying you for the anointing. 1 Samuel 16:7
A good heart is one of life's great treasures. A good heart puts you in a position to receive gifts from the Lord. David's godly and good heart was part of what qualified him for the anointing.
The Lord's anointed may not necessarily be a perfect person. Most times, people chosen for the anointing are not. They have their flaws, makes their mistakes and are human like everyone else. But God looks deep into their heart and qualifies them for the anointing for reasons many people cannot see.
The Lord's anointed is simply the person who has the Lord's anointing. The anointing is the presence of the Holy Spirit that makes you function in an office or assignment. The anointing makes you God's man or woman for the job. The anointing is what shows you have God's approval to do what you're doing. The anointing makes you God's exclusive property. Psalm 105:15
It is a privilege to be anointed. It is a great honor to have the Holy Spirit work with you. Our relationship with the Holy Spirit should be developed, it should grow. As our relationship with God's Spirit grows our confidence in the anointing upon our lives increases. 1 John 2:20
The anointing makes us effective in life and ministry. The anointing makes us face life with the needed boldness and confidence. Some benefits of the anointing: 1. Power - Acts 10:38 with the anointing (the Holy Spirit) comes power.

3. Dreams and visions from God - Joel 2:28
4. Effectiveness for God - Luke 4:18
5. Restoration of health - Romans 8:11
6. Enemies are defeated - Isaiah 54:15-17
7. Divine direction - Romans 8:14
8. Teaches you all things - 1 John 2:27
9. Knowledge and truth is supplied - John 16:13
The anointing upon your life will lead you into all truth and what is true for your life.
10. Sealed unto redemption - Ephesians 4:30
the anointing upon you is the seal upon your life that you are a son or daughter of God.
This seal upon your life is the reason you will make heaven.
